Angels Step up to the Plate to Help OC Food Bank

When the California Angels moved to Anaheim in 1966, a baseball love affair began between Orange County and its very own Major League team. The name of the club has changed over the years, as has team ownership. But there has never been a change to the team’s community service.

Just ask 2nd Harvest Food Bank’s Pooja Pelham.

“The generosity of their staff has been really kind of overwhelming,” Pelham said at the team’s summer food drive before a game against the Boston Red Sox. “We have this event with them at this time during the summer and we also have a great event with the Angels groundskeepers that happens in November.”

The organizations involvement in the community can be seen through a variety of programs, with information available at their community web page, www.LosAngeles.Angels.mlb.com . You can learn more about efforts to fight hunger in the southland through the 2nd Harvest Food Bank site, www.feedoc.org
