The song was written and produced by Dr. Luke with additional songwriting by Jessie J and Claude Kelly and the video was directed by Chris Applebaum. The song reflects Miley’s relocation from Nashville to Hollywood, initially feeling like a misfit but ultimately embracing her new life. Miley conceived the video treatment for “Party In The USA” wanting to pay homage to one of her favorite movies, “Grease,” and the courtship days of her parents, replete with details of their date at a drive-in movie theater, and Miley arriving in the same Pontiac Trans Am her mother drove! “Party In The USA” is RIAA® Diamond Certified with over 13 million units. The song has become anthemic and a yearly favorite to celebrate the 4th of July.
